Halusin ehdottomasti esitellä teille muutaman Emma Ainalan työn. Olen todella fileissä mimmistä! Ainala on tehnyt aiemmin super hienon bambi-sarjan, yritän löytää muutamia kuvia myös siitä. Ja tytöstä kuullaan vielä muutenkin! ;)

I wanted to present a few works of Emma Ainala, I'm very excited of this young Finnish artist. I'll try to find some pictures of her bambi-series, they were freaking awesome too.

LLAMAS BAR & BODEGA.

Kotikadulleni on hiljattain avattu uusi kuppila, latinalaisamerikkalaiseen tyyliin somistettu Llamas. Pikkuisen "Laaman" sisustajalla on ollut kieli poskella: baaritiskin istuimet ovat keinuja, lattiaan naulattu släpärit, pöytäpintoihin piilotettu humalaisten kiusaksi seteleitä ja yhtä seinää koristavat voodoomaiset pääkallohahmot. Baarin tunnelma ja musiikki on aivan loistavan leppoisaa, Laama muistutti minua taannoisesta Brasilianmatkasta ja kohtuuhintainen hanasiideri sai erityisen hilpeälle tuulelle. Jos liikutte pienemmällä porukalla Iso Roobertinkadulla, poiketkaa ihmeessä Llamasiin!

Recently a new bar was opened to my street. The bar is called Llamas, and the interior designer really had fun decorating the tiny place with a quirky latin america theme: bar seats are swings, there are flip flops nailed to the floor, money painted to the boards to agitate drunken people and one of the walls has voodoo style skull images painted on it. The music and atmosphere is wonderfully mellow, the place really made me think about my past Brazilian trip. If you are at Iso Roobertinkatu with a smaller crowd, pop in to Llamas!

Melody Ehsani

Melody Ehsani tekee sarjakuvavaikutteisia ja 80-luvun (hip hop) tyylisiä koruja. Hänellä on myös oma kenkämallisto. Ehsanin tunnetuimpia asiakkaita ovat nykyrytmimusiikin naispuoliset vaikuttajat Erykah Badu (esim. New Amerykah- sormukset!), Alicia Keys, Keri Hilson, Beyoncé ja Rihanna. Vaikka Ehsanin designissä ei ole mielestäni mitään kovin uutta ja oivaltavaa, leikkisä nostalgia vetoaa minuun. Ottaisin mielelläni itselleni tuollaisen asesormuksen ja 4 sormen ketjusormuksen!

Melody Ehsani makes comic book and 80's (hip hop) style influenced jewellery. She also has her own shoe collection. Ehsani's most famous clients are contemporary rhythm music female agonists Erykah Badu (e.g. the New Amerykah rings!), Alicia Keys, Keri Hilson, Beyoncé and Rihanna. Although I think Ehsani's designs don't actually offer anything new or insightful, I like the playful nostalgia. I would gladly add the gun ring and 4 finger chain ring to my jewellery collection!

Ooh, mikä mallisto! Trooppisia printtejä ja Nike-logoja paljeteilla, vyölaukkuja, valkaisuaineella läiskittyä denimiä ja piikkiniittejä. Tahtoo!

Gahh, what a collection! Tropical prints and Nike-logos with sequins, fanny packs, bleach splashed denim and spike studs. Me wants!

YOU ARE ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR LAST HAIRDO.

Minun täytyy todellakin kirkastaa hiusväriäni! Tällaisen anti-ruskettuneen, kalpeanharmaan ihon pelastus olisi hennot raidat kehystämässä kasvoja. Tahtoisin samanlaisen värin kuin Rachel Bilsonilla, Alexa Chungilla ja Lily Aldridgella: hieman raitoja koko tukassa ja vaaleammat, jopa oljenblondit latvat.

I really need to brighten up my hair color! With my kind of anti-tan, pallor complexion I should add some high lights to frame my face. I'm hoping to get the look of Rachel Bilson, Alexa Chung and Lily Aldridge: subtle high lighted sections with light brown or even straw blonde ends through out the hair.


Kaiken kaikkiaan hiushistoriani on aika tylsä. Vauvahiusten lähdettyä hiuksiani ei koskaan oikeastaan lyhennetty, joten viidenteen luokkaan asti tukkani oli todella pitkä, reiteen ulottuva. Siitä ne leikattiin ensin puoleen selkään, sitten leukaan ja 6. ja 7. luokalla minulla oli ajan mukaisesti sellainen lyhyt kammottava talitinttitukka. Lukiossa sporttasin vähän aikaa otsatukkaa. Väri on aina ollut ruskea, välillä tummempi tai punertavampi.

All in all my personal hair history is prrrretty boring. I think that since my babyhair grew out my hair was never really cut shorter, so untill 5th grade it hung to my thighs! Then it was cut to mid back and soon after chin lenght, and in 6th and 7th grade I had a then-trendy short "tit-bird" hair, ugh. In high school I was briefly sporting a fringe. The color has always been brown, sometimes darker sometimes more reddish.

ACID OR WHAT.

Tänään päällä syksyn kunniaksi muhkea vaaleanpunainen kaulahuivi H&M:stä, lumipesty farkkutakki UFF:sta, Calvin Kleinin neulemekko jonka sain Johannekselta tuliaiseksi New Yorkista :) sekä edellisessä postauksessa hehkuttamani nilkkurit. Tykkään kääriä oversize-takkien hihoja volyymin luomiseksi, näillä ilmoilla täytyisi jo kaivaa varastosta pitkävartiset mokkahanskani lämmittämään käsivarsia!

Today I wore a chunky pale pink knit scarf from H&M, snow wash denim jacket from UFF, Calvin Klein knit dress that Johannes brought me from New York :) and booties that I bragged about on the last post. I love to roll up the sleeves of oversized jackets to create some volume, but when it's this cold outside I should've worn my long suede gloves to warm my arms!

COME TO MAMA.

Mustat kiilapohjanilkkurit on nyt yliviivattu tarvelistalta! Nämä namut 11 cm korolla ja luonnonkumipohjalla löytyivät Zarasta hintaan 89,95€. Kuolasin kenkiä myymälässä ja surkuttelin poikaystävälleni pankkitilin nollasaldoa, lopulta hän nappasi kengät kädestäni, kiikutti kassalle ja osti ne! KIITOS KULTA!!! Olen ollut todella yllättynyt miten hyvät nilkkurit ovat jalassa, näillä on jo juhlittu viime perjantai, oltu koko päivä eilen studiolla tekemässä Trendiä ja kävelty tänään kaupungilla. Mikä parasta, näitä voi käyttää ihan minkä kanssa tahansa. Hameet, pillifarkut, leveät farkut, ukkohousut, haaremit... en keksi mitään mitä näihin ei voisi yhdistää. Parfait!

Black wedge heel booties can be crossed off my shopping list! These babies with 11cm heel and natural rubber sole were found at Zara for 89,95€. I was so drooling after these in the store and complaining about being broke to my boyfriend, suddenly he just snatched the shoes off my hands, took them to the cashier and bought them! THANK YOU HONEY!!! I'm very surprised at how comfortable the booties are, I've already worn these to a club last friday, yesterday all day at a studio shooting for Trendi and walked in them around town today. What's best is that these can be worn with everything. Skirts, skinny jeans, wide leg jeans, "grampa" pants, harem pants... I can't come up with anything I couldn't combine these with. Parfait!
